Suliworld Signifiers

Suliworld Signifiers brings bullet journal symbols and interactions to Obsidian. It works with any theme, including Suliworld, and is free and open source.

The Suliworld theme handles appearance. This separate plugin handles bullet journal signifiers and all their settings.

What you get

• Seven signifiers. Tasks, completed tasks, events, notes, migrated items, scheduled items, and important items each have their own symbol.
• Click to mark done. Click any signifier to mark it done, then click again to restore it.
• A picker menu. Right-click a signifier, or long-press on mobile, to change its type, mark it done, or turn it back into a plain bullet.
• Suggestions as you type. Type - [ to pick a signifier from a list.
• Keep the same signifier on the next line. Press Enter to continue with another event, note, or other signifier. An empty line ends the list.
• Commands and hotkeys. Set, cycle, or remove signifiers on selected lines, with your own keyboard shortcuts.

Works in Live Preview and reading view, on desktop and mobile.

Your symbols, your settings

Open Settings → Suliworld Signifiers to configure every signifier option: symbols, colors, size, drawing signifiers, continuing them on a new line, and typing suggestions. These settings belong to the plugin, including when you use the Suliworld theme.

The character between a task’s brackets selects its signifier. These are the defaults; you can customize their appearance in the plugin settings.

Install

Until the plugin is listed in Obsidian’s community plugins:

1. Download main.js, manifest.json, and styles.css from the latest GitHub release.
2. Put them in your vault’s .obsidian/plugins/suliworld-signifiers/ folder.
3. In Obsidian, open Settings → Community plugins and enable Suliworld Signifiers.
4. Open Settings → Suliworld Signifiers to customize your signifiers.

For the matching cream, forest green, and serif look, install the Suliworld theme separately.
